Therefore, the body unconsciously tries to \"avoid using that arm as much as possible and instead compensate with an easier-to-move trunk or the unaffected hand.\" This can be described as a certain kind of rational defense reaction based on the body's mechanisms to somehow get through daily life with limited physical strength and neural capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vk-color-primary-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-804cc4673d48b930d2c2b095d11387ce wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:1.5vw\">Actual studies have also revealed that in post-stroke patients, lightening the weight of the paralyzed arm reduces non-use, whereas conversely, the weight of the arm acting as a burden leads to forced compensatory movements in other parts of the body and muscle stiffness<sup>2<\/sup>. In fact, recent large-scale multicenter cross-sectional studies have also demonstrated that \"upper limb motor dysfunction is closely related to whole-body postural balance, such as the Berg Balance Scale<sup>3<\/sup>\".
